Waldorf have really hit some high notes over the years and the Quantum is right up there with the greats in my book.

I was kind of "meh" on the Prophet-X - it can sound really good but the feature set did not thrill me - so I passed.īut the Waldorf Quantum really is something special. If I'm going to use a "normal" synth sound I need crazy features that are usually only found in soft synths in order to get very excited. Likewise for things like System-8, Boutique re-issues, JD-Xa, etc. I don't buy too many synths these days - I like the sound of the OB-6 but I don't "need" one as I don't use the type of sounds it's good at very much. Korg MS-20 x2 and MS-50 (add 'em up and it's an MS-90!) I think the EuroCrack rig is in the background, along with the TTSH 2600 and most of the other usual suspects. Also, do you still have your eurorack setup? have you bought any new modules for it? how do you use your modular, if you still use it, for scoring? do you use it just as a source of weird noise that you process on the DAW or as a true composition tool for sequences and other stuff? You can see most of the stuff I'm using these days in the Spitfire Cribs video a few posts up where I'm talking with Christian Henson about the Que Lastas sculptural metal instrument.

I would like to know your current studio setup as far as hardware goes and which are your current favourite pieces of equipment as far as synths, pedals and outboard gear.
